Grand All Over was founded in 1995 by Jon Spurlock, ASID. Jon has been helping people make tough design choices for over 20 years. During the early 1980s, he started working with a small wallcovering shop in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Inspired by the experience, he attended the University of Kentucky, earning a degree in Interior Design.

After working as a professional interior designer in Lexington, KY for several years—and serving on the board of the Lexington Showcase of Homes—he moved to Greensboro, NC and started working with a major furniture gallery.

While he was able to present his customers with an enormous variety of furniture, he was less satisfied with his ability to provide them with the ‘perfect’ fabric to set off that ‘perfect’ piece of furniture. So he developed arrangements with a number of high-end firms that offered a wider array of customer choices. Later, he began offering wallcoverings and a limited selection of unusual furniture offerings. From that was born Grand All Over.

In addition to being a degreed designer, Jon is a full professional member of the prestigious American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). His interior design work on the Glen Partner’s home at the 2001 Greensboro Showcase of Homes was one of the show’s highlights. In 2003, Jon's work was featured at the Charleston Symphony ASID Showhouse, the Charlotte Symphony ASID Showhouse and the Dennis Sosebee house at Greensboro Builder's Association Dream Street showcase. In October 2003, Jon's custom drapery work was featured in the 'O at Home' supplement to Oprah Winfrey's 'O Magazine'.
